You feel stuck in a way that has nothing to do with skills or money. The career looks fine on paper. The relationship is okay. And still something in you keeps asking “is this it?” That question is where spiritual coaching starts. Here is how to tell if you are ready, and how to choose someone good.
Seven signs
You keep repeating the same pattern in jobs or relationships and you want to understand why. You have outgrown your current goals and have not found new ones. You feel a pull toward meaning or purpose that you cannot name. You have a daily practice (meditation, journaling, prayer) and want to go deeper with guidance. You are going through a big transition: divorce, loss, a move, a career change, a health scare. You are drawn to spiritual ideas but want them to translate into real decisions. You have tried self-help books and courses and want a person, not another PDF.
How spiritual coaching differs from therapy
Therapy treats mental health conditions and works with your past. Coaching works with the present and the future, with you as a capable adult making choices. A spiritual coach adds a third layer: your values, your sense of purpose, your inner life and, if you want it, practices like meditation, energy work or ritual. If you are in crisis or dealing with a diagnosed condition, see a therapist first. A good coach will tell you the same.
What a session looks like
Most coaches work in 45 to 60 minute video calls, weekly or every two weeks, for three to six months. You bring a theme. The coach asks questions, reflects back what they hear, and gives you practices or small actions between sessions. Some include tarot, astrology or Reiki as tools. Ask what methods they use so you are not surprised.
What it costs
Single sessions run 80 to 200 USD. Three-month packages run 600 to 2,500 USD depending on the coach’s experience and how much support sits between calls. Many offer a free 20-minute call first. Take it. Chemistry matters more than credentials here.
How to choose
Look for a clear description of who they help and how. Look for reviews that describe change, not only kindness. Ask about their own training and how long they have coached. Avoid anyone who promises specific outcomes, pressures you to buy a long package on the first call, or speaks badly of therapy and doctors.
